Your legal matter in Pakistan, handled from Lahore while you live abroad.
For NICOP and POC holders, dual nationals and Pakistanis working overseas with a property, inheritance, family or child guardianship matter in Pakistan — who cannot sit in a Lahore courtroom or revenue office themselves.
Short answer. KBL & Associates is a Lahore law firm that runs Pakistani property, inheritance, family and child adoption matters for Pakistanis living abroad. Most files proceed on a power of attorney signed where the client lives — online through NADRA, at a Pakistani mission, or by apostille where the Convention applies — with hearings attended in Pakistan by the firm and updates sent by WhatsApp in the client’s time zone.

What overseas clients bring us.
Six kinds of matter make up almost all of it. Each page explains the law and the process from your side of the world.
Property occupied or sold behind your back
Relatives who will not leave, qabza groups, tenants in default, transfers on forged documents. Special courts, the Illegal Dispossession Act and civil suits.
Power of attorney from abroad
NADRA online, embassy or apostille — which one works from your country, how to draft it narrowly, and how to revoke one being misused.
Inheritance and succession
NADRA succession certificates, inheritance mutation, and court cases when a share — often a sister’s — is being withheld.
Divorce, khula and custody
Talaq notices, khula suits, maintenance, custody and children taken across borders, with an honest note on recognition abroad.
Buying or selling property
Title, society and development authority checks before you pay; special powers of attorney and transfer taxes when you sell.
Child adoption
Court guardianship of a child in Pakistan under the Guardians and Wards Act, 1890 — the legal route Pakistan actually has.
Three things overseas Pakistanis are often told wrong.
An apostille does not work from every country
Pakistan joined the Apostille Convention from 9 March 2023. But Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, Greece, Austria, Finland, Poland and the Czech Republic objected to Pakistan’s accession, so the Convention does not operate between them and Pakistan. The UAE, Qatar and Kuwait are not parties at all. From those countries, use the Pakistani mission or NADRA’s online route. Full country table.
You may not need to visit the embassy
CNIC, NICOP and POC holders can sign a power of attorney through NADRA’s online system: biometrics for you and two witnesses, online payment, and an online interview with your Pakistani mission. How it works.
Punjab has special courts for overseas Pakistanis’ property
A 2025 Punjab law created special courts for property disputes involving overseas Pakistanis, with judges designated in the districts in November 2025. A separate Deputy Commissioner-led scheme was suspended by the Lahore High Court in December 2025. Choosing the forum that is actually working is the first decision. Property disputes.

How a file runs when you are not in Pakistan.
Send the papers on WhatsApp
Your country and city, the district in Pakistan, and photos of whatever you have: registry, fard, nikahnama, death certificate, court papers, CNIC or NICOP.
Written assessment and quote
We check the record in Pakistan where needed, tell you what the realistic routes are, and send a written scope and fee before anything is filed.
Power of attorney
We draft it narrowly and tell you which signing route works from your country: NADRA online, the mission, or a local apostille.
Hearings in Pakistan, updates in your time zone
We file and appear. After each hearing you get the order summary on WhatsApp the same day, and scanned orders; certified copies and originals are couriered at the end.
Questions from Pakistanis abroad.
In most property, inheritance and family matters, yes. You sign a power of attorney where you live and we file and appear for you. A court can still require personal attendance or evidence at a particular stage, and some steps — such as biometric verification at a property transfer — have their own rules. We tell you at the start which steps, if any, need you.
A special power of attorney limited to the property or case in question, in almost every situation. We draft it. How you sign it depends on your country: NADRA online, at the Pakistani mission, or with a local apostille where the Apostille Convention operates between your country and Pakistan.
Lahore’s district courts, special courts and the Lahore High Court are our daily ground. Tell us the district of the property or the family first; for matters outside Lahore we tell you at the outset who will appear and how the file will be run.
After we have seen your documents, we send a written scope and fee quote before anything is filed. Fees are paid by bank transfer against an invoice issued by the firm. No outcome is promised, and we will tell you if a case is not worth bringing.
Yes. Consultations and WhatsApp updates are available in English, Urdu and Punjabi, and there is an Urdu version of this page.
